The Suruq Al Hadid museum tells the extraordinary story of the discovery of the most significant archeological site in Dubai - the remains of an iron age factory near the border with Abu Dhabi.

The museum is housed in a historically significant building in the Shindagha Heritage District.

The experience begins with two immersive environments, the first of which tells the story of the discovery of the site by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, and the second of which immerses visitors in the drama of the finds themselves.

The stunning artefacts, which include everything from arrow heads to jewellery, and items whose purpose has yet to be identified, are displayed in carefully controlled environments, and the interpretation includes several video elements as well as real and virtual activities specifically aimed at children and school groups.
